JazzyFatNastees is All Up In Your Face

I was just browsing through the web and then suddenly I came accross these ladies website. I thought, hey interesting name you got there... and once the background sound finished loading they were already all over me. Now I don't know why these ladies somehow goes unnoticed by the music community. Their music is nothing short of what you can call GREAT. I think you lots should have a go with it.

JazzyFatNastees adalah Tracey Moore dan Mercedes Martinez. Konsep yang mereka usung adalah "Jazzy lyrics, Fat harmonies, and Nastee tracks". Memilih untuk tidak terbawa arus komersil dan setia pada idealisme musik mereka mungkin membuat mereka tidak cukup dikenal. Their first album preceded the advent of the "neo-soul" movement and even MCA was unsure how to market a group that did not readily fit the then limited confines of popular black music.

Album kedua mereka, The Tortoise and The Hare merefleksikan pengaruh berbagai genre musik pada musik JazzyFatNastees. Corak vokal yang berbeda namun saling melengkapi dikemas dalam sepuluh lagu yang benar-benar comfy dan patut disimak.

Bukan lagu terbaik di album ini menurut gue, tapi gue pikir lagu ini cukup punya 'attitude' dan 'spunk' yang bakal membuat elo penasaran tentang JazzyFatNastees. Enjoy
